About BASF® Glass-Filled Polypropylene

Glass-filled polypropylene is a tough material with high strength that is also resistant to high temperatures. It is suitable for functional verification of product prototypes.

Material Details

BASF PP-GF is a reinforced polypropylene (PP) material that combines the advantages of polypropylene with the added strength and performance of glass fibers. Polypropylene is a widely used material in conventional manufacturing due to its versatility and cost-effectiveness. By incorporating glass fibers, BASF PP-GF offers enhanced toughness, excellent chemical resistance (to acids and alkalis), structural integrity, and low moisture absorption.

BASF PP-GF serves as an economic alternative to PA12 (Nylon 12) while providing improved rigidity, dimensional stability, and abrasion resistance. This makes it well-suited for manufacturing robust jigs and fixtures, housings, and parts subjected to abrasion and wear.
